Insider Tips From People Who Sail the River
- Don't rush the buffet. Queues are longest in the first stretch after departure. Most ships restock continuously, so let the first rush die down and you will walk straight up.
- Edge seats or middle rows? Edge seats are the ones most guests ask for, and for good reason — nothing between you and the river, and by far the best photos. Middle rows trade some of that view for a shorter walk to the buffet and a little more shelter from wind. Edge and rooftop seats go first, so book ahead if that is what you want.
- Leave early. Bangkok evening traffic is severe, and a missed departure is normally non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Rain isn't a cancellation. Every ship has an air-conditioned deck, so showers mean moving indoors rather than losing the cruise.
