Insider Tips From People Who Sail the River

Don't rush the buffet. Queues are longest in the first stretch after departure. Most ships restock continuously, so let the first rush die down and you will walk straight up.
Edge seats or middle rows? Edge seats are the ones most guests ask for, and for good reason — nothing between you and the river, and by far the best photos. Middle rows trade some of that view for a shorter walk to the buffet and a little more shelter from wind. Edge and rooftop seats go first, so book ahead if that is what you want.
Leave early. Bangkok evening traffic is severe, and a missed departure is normally non-refundable and non-transferable.
Rain isn't a cancellation. Every ship has an air-conditioned deck, so showers mean moving indoors rather than losing the cruise.
Restrooms are almost always at the stern. Where a ship has a designated smoking area it is usually at the stern too, but policies differ from ship to ship and some are entirely non-smoking — ask the crew when you board.

What the package names mean

Free-flow soft drinks means unlimited soft drinks, juice and water for the length of the cruise.

Free-flow beverages — written as free-flow special beverages on some ships — is a wider onboard drinks list than soft drinks alone. Thai advertising regulations do not allow us to publish the full list of what is poured on a public web page, so message our team or ask the crew at the pier and they will confirm exactly what is included on your sailing date.

Either package is served on board only, for the length of the cruise, and applies to the guest holding the ticket. It cannot be exchanged for a discount or taken ashore.

After the end dates above. None of the operators have confirmed what replaces these packages, so a booking from February 2027 onwards may not include free-flow drinks. Message us with your travel date before you book and we will check the current package with the ship.

The cheapest dinner round is Meridian Cruise 2 at 888 THB; the most expensive is Wonderful Pearl at 2,000 THB. All prices include the buffet and onboard entertainment.

What time do Bangkok dinner cruises depart?

The dinner round boards from around 6:30 PM and departs between 7:00 and 7:30 PM, returning about two hours later. Sunset and twilight rounds depart around 5:00 to 5:30 PM. Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before departure, as missed departures are normally non-refundable.

ICONSIAM is the most convenient — a large luxury riverside mall reachable by BTS Gold Line or a 12 THB shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier, with the widest choice of ships and 4 hours free parking. Asiatique has a big open-air night market to explore beforehand and a free shuttle boat from Sathorn, but the busiest boarding area; parking is free for 4 hours in P1 and P2. River City has the fewest cruises and the calmest boarding. Riverside Bangkok Hotel is a small, quiet pier now serving only Riverside Kinlen, with free parking for cruise guests.
